The Article Processing Charge described in our Publication Fee page is invoiced only after a manuscript is accepted following peer review. Because the fee covers editorial and production work already performed by that stage, refunds are limited to the specific circumstances below.
Full Refund
- Duplicate payment made in error for the same manuscript.
- Payment processing error resulting in an incorrect charge amount.
- The journal withdraws its acceptance decision due to a post-acceptance ethical finding (e.g. plagiarism, data fabrication) discovered before publication.
Partial Refund
- Author-initiated withdrawal after payment but before typesetting has begun — evaluated case by case.
No Refund
- Author-initiated withdrawal after the article has entered typesetting or been assigned to an issue.
- Change of mind about open-access publication after the article is live.
- Rejection prior to acceptance never incurs a charge in the first place, so no refund question arises.
